Established as a practice in 2001 by Paolo Pianezze, Paolo Pianezze Architects have been responsible for a broad range of projects from industrial and commercial through to multi residential and private residences, retail and masterplanning and schools. The practice has a strong focus on commercial and development projects.
Paolo Pianezze graduated from RMIT in 1998 with a Bachelor of Architecture and First Class Honours.
Shortly after he commenced work both in private practice and for a leading Melbourne industrial developer. During this period he developed a strong understanding of industrial building types and constantly challenged the design parameters of industrial buildings, developing an easily recognizable style that pushed both the footprint and skin of industrial buildings.
The inherent logic of industrial economics flows strongly through to his multi-residential and commercial work, where the materials of the skin are the instant hero of a design.
Since 2001, the practice has been awarded numerous times, most notably with the best Multi-Unit development and with numerous commendations residential design.
The practice is best described as boutique, being small and selective on projects, rather than based on volume.
Whether it's residential, commercial or industrial, the journey is as important as the destination.
