A Melbourne fashion Icon, Field's Knitwear commissioned the practice to relocate from their 1970's facility in Richmond to Port Melbourne.
Hand in Hand with the relocation, the building needed to convey that the company was still as contemporary as the day of its inception.
The new facility integrated logistics, offices, product development areas and a fashion display area under one roof.
In opposition to the previous premises which were dark and introverted, the fashion house is opened to the street and public view in the same way a shop front does.
Space are a combination of raw materials, high vaulted ceilings and articulated lower areas that provide theatre and intimacy within the one envelope. The building speaks to the public both at day and night, providing the ultimate twenty four hour sales platform.
