Transforming the ordinary….

A 1990’s residence, the dwelling was a classic volume builder’s house: large spaces, defined by name, but unrelated to each other and without a common theme. Throw in a corner kitchen with a breakfast servery and the latest Tuscan tiles, and the picture is complete.

This project is about removing the un-necessary, celebrating the existing bones (which gave a great volume to the house) and establishing a series of finishes that remained consistent through the entire dwelling to create a unified story and journey.

Joinery is used to create a sense of human scale, wrapping and travelling through the spaces and providing thought out detailing that was absent in the original dwelling. Textures- through timber and soft furnishings, break down the original large volumes into soft, comfortable spaces.
